About Math Challenge
Math Challenge is a quick-fire math game that turns practicing addition, subtraction and times tables into a fun race against the clock. You have just one minute, every sum has 4 possible answers, and the goal is to get as many right as you can before time runs out.
First choose the kind of sums: adding, subtracting, multiplying, or a mix of all three. Then choose the number size: small with numbers up to 10 for kindergarten and first grade, medium up to 20 with times tables to 5, and big with numbers up to 100 and the full times tables to 10. Subtraction never gives a negative answer.
Every right answer grows your fire streak 🔥, and if you get one wrong the game calmly shows the correct answer so you can learn from it. At the end you see how many you got right, your accuracy and your best score for each kind of sum, so parents can follow their child's progress day by day. It is free and runs in the browser on computers and phones.

Tips to win
- When adding, start from the bigger number and count on by the smaller one.
- When subtracting, count up from the smaller number to the bigger one; the gap is the answer.
- Learn the times tables one at a time: start with 2, 5 and 10 because they are the easiest.
- Being right matters more than being fast: a wrong answer breaks your fire streak 🔥.
Math Challenge: questions and answers
What age is this math game for?
It suits children from 6. Small numbers are right for kindergarten and first grade, and medium and big numbers are for kids in grades 2 to 6. Big numbers and mixed sums also make a quick workout for grown-ups who want to sharpen their mental math.
Can my child learn the times tables with this game?
Yes. Choose Multiply and start with medium (times tables to 5), then move on to big (times tables to 10). Quick, repeated practice helps the tables stick.
Do the subtraction sums have negative numbers?
Never. The first number is always bigger than or equal to the second, so the answer is never below zero.

It is completely free with no sign-up and no download, and the best scores are only saved on your own device.
