About Brick Breaker
Brick breaker is one of those old arcade games a lot of people grew up with, and now you can play it again online with nothing to install, on your own or with the family. A wall of colorful bricks sits at the top of the screen, and you slide a little paddle along the bottom to bounce the ball back up and knock the bricks out one by one.
Every level has its own picture: rainbow stripes, a big red heart, a checkerboard, a smiley face and a sparkly diamond. Dark bricks with a white border are tough and need two hits. Clear all five layouts and they come back with a faster ball, so the challenge never really ends.
It's a great game for quick reactions and hand-eye coordination, and it teaches you to guess where the ball is going before it gets there. You have 3 hearts, and your best score is saved on your device so you can try to beat it next time.
How to play
- Press “Play now”, then “Start”.
- The ball waits on the paddle: press Space, click or tap the screen to launch it.
- Move the paddle with the mouse, your finger or the arrow keys so the ball doesn't fall past it.
- Every brick you break scores points, and the dark bricks need two hits.
- Break all the bricks to reach the next level and grab 100 bonus points.
Controls
| Keyboard | Left and right arrows or A and D move the paddle; Space or the up arrow launches the ball. |
|---|---|
| Mouse | Move the mouse left and right over the game and the paddle follows it; click to launch the ball. |
| Touch | Slide your finger left and right on the screen to move the paddle, and tap to launch the ball. |
Tips to win
- Hit the ball with the edge of the paddle to send it off at a steep angle; the middle sends it straight up.
- Try to open a gap at the side of the wall and sneak the ball above the bricks. It will break lots of them on its own.
- The ball speeds up with every brick, so keep your eyes on the ball, not on the bricks.
